Oh my……I’ve been wanting to make this cake for awhile – and finally, I had a reason to!!!! Very time consuming, and my back hurt for a bit from working on the cake, lol – but definitely worth the end result. I loved making the colours, and it was a lot of fun overall problem solving certain aspects of creating this cake. 😀 I hope I get to make this one again at some point…..
One of my best girlfriends, Christine, just celebrated her 35th birthday…… and the only request she gave me was that she wanted “Too sexy to be 35″ on the cake. But it was a 6”, and unfortunately was not able to fit all that on the top of the cake, AND have candles. Boo-urns.
I love the hearts and arrows confetti though – and was really quite excited to discover I could make candy melts a part of the cake decorating process….
It was my friend Marilyn’s 45th birthday. And I made her carrot cake with vanilla frosting……Her request: A blue and purple cake with a big “45” on the top. I suppose I could have added some writing, but I really like the simplicity of the design…..
It was my first time trying the diamond design with the squiggly lines – all in all it turned out to look amazing!! I truly had a lot of fun making this one. 😀
Second image transfer I had attempted. Much more complicated, if only for the fact that I had to make SO many colours to fill the image. AND my first attempt at making black icing, which worked out very well, Thank God………
This was for my friend’s daughters’ 4th birthday. I was later shown pictures of the party – the cake fit right in. 😀
My very first cake order ever! It was for the client’s wife’s birthday – and I stayed up with Rob till 2 am finishing the thing (it didn’t really help that I was still learning to ice a cake at that point, lol) But the result was amazing – I swear by YouTube tutorials for anything you’d like to learn (assuming you’re a visual learner)
Technically, this IS a blue velvet cake – unfortunately for me, I neglected to take ANY pictures of the cake after having been cut, lol. I made this for my friend Lee’s birthday, and she graciously decided to allow me to have complete control over the design of the cake (never mind the fact that I had still asked her about a million questions ANYWAY about her preferences, lol)
